Argo hires Richard Smart
ARGO INTERNATIONAL has appointed Richard Smart as deputy underwriter of its casualty division.
In his new role Smart will assist in the management and development of all lines of business and will be actively engaged in the provision of underwriting, business planning and the management of the team.
Smart joins Argo International, the Lloyd’s subsidiary of Argo Group International Holdings, from Newline Underwriting Management.
At Newline, he most recently served as head of professional indemnity where he maneged both primary and excess business.
Prior to a five year spell at Newline, he worked as an underwriter at Denham Syndicate Management Limited and BP Theakston & Others.
