Torus adds to UK and US casualty teams
TORUS has grown both its UK and US casualty services offerings with the appointments of Charles Stauber and Alison Timson.
Stauber has been appointed vice president – head of casualty claims, and he will take up the role with immediate effect. He will oversee casualty claims in the US for both global casualty and global speciality from Torus’ office in New Jersey.
Stauber joins Torus from Stauber Associates LLC, a risk management and consulting company specialising in property and casualty, of which he was the president and owner. He has previously worked for Liberty Mutual, Travelers, AIG, Investors and Ace USA.
Timson joins Torus as assistant vice president for US casualty. Previously employed at Willis, Timson’s new role will see her based in London where she will develop and underwrite US business from UK brokers.
She has over ten years of experience in the commercial insurance sector, eight of which were in umbrella and excess casualty specialising in real estate, construction, energy, utilities and chemicals in the US and London markets.
The president and chief underwriting officer of Torus’ global casualty division, David Perez, said: “To lay the proper foundation we have been building Torus’ casualty claims infrastructure over the last year. With Charles’ appointment we now have all our major platforms covered with experienced and talented claims professionals.”
