Ace Westchester promotes Kessler

ACE Group’s US based wholesale-focused property and casualty (p/c) insurance operation has given Bruce Kessler the position of president for its casualty and specialty lines.

Reporting to the president and chief executive of Ace Westchester, Dennis Crosby, Kessler has been tasked with leading the company’s new business development and strategic direction, as well as the implementation of its underwriting strategy and the development of products and services for all of its casualty, environmental, transportation and management and professional liability lines.

With more 28 years of insurance industry experience, Kessler most recently served as executive vice president and chief underwriting officer, insurance - North America for Ace.

Talking about Kessler’s appointment, Crosby said: “Bruce has been instrumental in helping to bring underwriting consistency across all of our business operations in North America, and this record of success will serve us well as we continue to grow the wholesale focused casualty and specialty lines operations of Ace Westchester.

Crosby himself has also been given additional responsibility in recent weeks, with the position of chairman for Ace Commercial Risks Services – a newly established part of the company that offers specialty products to small businesses in North America – bestowed upon him.

Last month, Ace Westchester announced it had promoted Joseph Casey to president of its specialist professional lines division, replacing David Lupica who had himself been promoted to the role of president for Ace Commercial Risk Services.
