Catlin hires Zingg to look after investments
CATLIN Group has brought in the highly-experienced Martin Zingg to look after the company’s investment strategy and to take responsibility for its $7bn in cash and investments.
Zingg joins Catlin from Swiss Re where he most recently held the position of managing director – asset management and head of private equity in Zurich. In this role, Zingg was responsible for the company’s alternative investments and for looking after its private equity investment portfolio and relationships.
Having joined Swiss Re in 1995, Zingg has also held a variety of investment-related positions at the reinsurer in Zurich, Hong Kong and San Francisco.
Zingg, whose official title is chief investment officer, will take up his new role at the beginning of March.
Benjamin Meuli, Catlin’s chief financial officer, said: “[Zingg] has acquired a wealth of investment experience and knowledge during his 15 years with Swiss Re, and I believe that he is the ideal person to lead Catlin’s investment management operations.”
