Gard adds Moon to defence team
MICHAEL Moon is set to join Gard’s office in Oslo at the beginning of April as a senior defence lawyer.
He is currently a partner at London-based solicitors Bentley Stokes and Lowless after joining the firm in 2007 having previously been at specialist maritime law solicitors Shaw & Croft. Moon has more than 28 years experience of handling maritime claims and disputes after initially entering the industry by working for one of the major London-based protection and indemnity companies.
The vice president of Gard’s Defence department, Alice Amundsen, said: “Defence is a key part of our product range, particularly in these challenging times. Michael’s wealth of experience across a range of international maritime issues will enhance our capabilities in this area even further, increasing the breadth and depth of service available.”
Towards the end of last month, Gard announced it was undertaking a series of organisational changes which are set to come into effect in the autumn of this year. Bjørnar Andresen will become the managing director of the marine insurer’s London office, while Christen Guddal will leave London and head up Gard’s Top Management Group at its Arendal office in Norway.
