Taylor handed chief underwriting role at CNA Europe

John Taylor has been promoted to the newly created role of chief underwriting officer at CNA Europe after more than five years with the company.

He will report directly to John Hennessy, CNA Europe’s chief executive.

Taylor has been with CNA Europe since 2006, initially leading its financial lines business, before being handed an extended remit with responsibility for all specialty lines operations.

Taylor’s 25 years in the insurance industry has also included spells with Chubb and Willis.

Taylor also chairs CNA’s pan-European underwriting committee. He is joined on the committee by Carl Kearney, chief actuary and risk officer, and Rhonda Buege, underwriting officer for CNA Europe’s specialist healthcare business, HealthPro.
