Amlin takes Farquhar from Catlin

AMLIN has appointed James Farquhar as leading class underwriter for its specie business. Farquhar has joined from Catlin, where he has spent the last 10 years. His insurance career began 25 years ago as a broker with Lander Eberli Shorter Ltd,. In 1986, he joined the Stewart Wrightson/Willis Faber surety and specie division. From 1995 to 1997, he worked in the fine art and specie division of Johnson & Higgins (UK) Limited. At Catlin, he was appointed marine business group leader in 2006, having spent the three years prior to that as class underwriter responsible for the specie account at syndicate 55.
